Cheapest place to purchase floor tile in Los Angeles, CA?

I am looking for a place to buy 224 squared feet of tile in the Los Angeles Area. Home Depot quoted me at 380 ( 1.70sq ft) for the tile I wanted. Any other cheaper place to buy tile?

buy cheap tile and cheap is what you get. buy extra so when you cheap shit breaks you don't have to replace the whole floor. cheap bastard. get your deal you'll pay extra later. just pay for what you want. nothing is cheaper than home depot. they have the flimsiest cheap ass tile.

Where can I find wholesale prices on fixtures, tile, flooring, etc. for home remodel in los angeles area?

Expo is very expensive in my area. If you are remodeling, why don't you ask for contractor prices and shop at one store for the best deal?

Is $950 a decent price to pay for rent & utilities in Los Angeles?

I am looking at a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2000 sq ft. house in North Hollywood.

With utilities, me an my two roomates are looking to spend about $950 a month for the place.

Is that too high or a good price?

There is a jaccuzzi in the backyard, hardwood floors, nice ladnscaping, patio, 2 car garage.
I am looking at a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2000 sq ft. house in North Hollywood.

It is priced at 2,400 a month…So, I am figuring about 400 a month in utilities (water, electricity, cable).

With utilities, me an my two roomates are looking to spend about $933 a month for the place.

Is that too high or a good price?

I am amazed. They could get much more then 950.

My condo is about 1200 sq ft…..
I want to do wood in about 500 sq ft
carpet in the rest
and some sort of tile in the 2 small restrooms
any idea where I can get it done cheap and what I should do…
that would be cheap, but nice!

Lowe's or Home Depot is offering a whole house full of carpet for 199 right now. They also have great deals on tile and wood. They also can install.

The other trick for inexpensive work is getting a design student to do it for little or nothing for their portfolio. I don't know where you live, but it's an idea. Of course you still have to pay for everything but then you'd have someone handling the project and they'd have some idea's and know where to go to get good deals. Ask the prof. who they'd recommend.

Should my land lord repair my hardwood floors?

I rent an apt in Los Angeles, the city just inspected the building and skipped my apt. due to my dogs. the hard wood floors are loose and missing boards. also a section is missing and replaced with plywood due to a water leak from a faulty toilet. I think they should replace it to original hardwood, do they have to? My plan is to call city housing and ask for a anonymous inspection. anything else?? I sublet into this apt and now have my own lease, but the landlord says i took the apt "as is".

He does not have to replace to original hardwood, but you need some sort of flooring. Plywood is legaly flooring.

If your dogs damaged the floor, and dogs will damage wood floors, then you would be the one to replace the floor, not the owner.

I just bought a rental property in a nice area and I have been refurbishing it. Mostly painting and small repair but now I am refinishing the hardwood floors. I am sanding floors and my neighbor is tripping out. I am using rented sanders and it was only 7:00pm. They aren't that loud (you can barely hear them from outside) and I told her I would be finished at 10:00pm. She said you can't do it after 7pm. So who's right? The machines are expensive to rent and the work has to be finished. I don't want a problem but I feel that it is important to finish so we can stain and do the base boards tomorrow.

The local PD should have a non-emergency phone number you can call to ask about the city sound ordinances. Alternatively, call the main City Operator (It should be in the book) for the right office to call to ask about this. I'm not sure what LA's rules are, but they will give you good info.
